Concrete hulls are inspected for cracks that might weep, gravel nests, rusty rebar, standpipes freeboard, support of extensions, bollards etc.

Steel riveted ships

Steel riveted ships are visually inspected on the slip as well as interior as exterior. After this the ship will be hammer tested.

Steel riveted hulls are First visually inspected inside and out then they are hammer tested. The hull is the then measured with ultra-sound equipment to measure the exact thickness of the steel. All fittings on the hull above and below the waterline are examined for corrosion and wear and tear. Rudder, steering gear and propulsion unit are also inspected.

Steel welded hulls

Steel welded hulls are visually inspected on the slip as well as interior as exterior. The thickness of the hull will be ultrasonically measured. All the through hull fittings will be inspected. The catholic protection will be checked.
